I take it Tripp Hammer is a guide that the Lodge at Eagle Rock doesn't use? Seems fishy to me!! (pun intended) Here is my review -

You are welcome to use this review in your decision making process as long as your future reservation doesn't conflict with mine :) . I have had the privilege to stay in many amazing places and to have been cared for by some wonderful team members at these places, but I have never stayed anywhere that is superior to the Lodge at Eagle Rock, both for the lodge, the location, and most especially, this incredible team, capably led by the amazing Angie. Beginning with the complimentary pickup by Laura, the lunch prepared by the wonderful chef, Laura's brother Jeffrey - which was prepared for my fishing buddy and me mid-afternoon - it was one great experience after another. We had a fine day on the Missouri for day one, followed by two amazing days on Holter Lake with Kit Johnson, surely one of the finest fishing guides in the world (not kidding!). The lodge atmosphere is casual and welcoming. Everyone treats you like family. The food is consistently excellent. Rooms are comfortable and amazingly well appointed. Bathrooms are top notch for a lodge setting. Believe it or not, my laundry, which was in a black plastic bag intended for my bag on the trip home, was laundered and folded on our next to last day. Even though the weather was unexpectedly cold and rainy, this was a perfect trip, one I hope to repeat in the future with my sons. Angie, Laura, Jeffrey, Allie, Tess (sorry for those whose names I failed to recall) - thank you for a wonderful, memorable time. To the owners of the Lodge at Eagle Rock - well done for everything you have put in place here. Angie, Jeffrey, and Laura are each some of the nicest people I have ever met. I trust you treasure them as they deserve to be.

Private Lodge not open to the public. Very, very expensive.

This place is absolutely incredible. The fishing aside - the lodge is managed very well, every wish you may have is instantly met with a happy smile and a Yes. Laura and Angie were A+ and make sure every guest is happy, comfortable and relaxed. The lodge itself is right on the river - I caught a fish within 20 minutes of arriving out back (and I am not a very good fisherman...at all.) Everything is very neat, clean and comfortable. The main room is awesome, a perfect place to watch a game, play some pool, sit by the fire, tell fish tales at the bar or tie some flies. The food...oh man, don't even get me started - Jeff is a 5 star chef. Every meal we had - from appetizers to dessert were better than 99.9% of the restaurants in NYC. Shrimp cocktail with old bay seasoning, blueberry crisp - on the Missouri River... If you want a great guide - I would also highly suggest Stephen and Taylor

I arrived on Wed. September 30th and Jen the General Manager picked me up at the airport. She gave me a quick rundown on what the next three days would be like. This placed exceeded all my expectations in every category. The Lodge itself is beautiful. Walking through the front doorway it was very impressive. A massive stone fireplace, exposed log beams, a great bar, and being greeted by the folks working there made me feel at home. My room was very nice. The food was on par with a top tier restaurant. Geoffrey the chef does a fantastic job, and makes a killer prime rib. All meals and adult beverages are included. The fishing with a guide is world class. I'm not a fly fisherman and was a little intimidated not knowing what I was doing. My guide on the first day was Beth. She was patient and I managed to catch a nice Brown Trout. I should have caught many more but mend right, mend left, casting, and setting the hook were all things I never worried about when fishing offshore. The next day I fished with Dan and I caught eight fish plus I missed many more. Both of my guides were excellent. The lodge supplied all my gear. Everything they provide is top of the line. I learned this from some of the other guests I met during my stay. The guests I met had all been here before and were returning because of the fishing. I have to give a big thank you to Laura who freshened my drink after a long day fishing, listened to my stories, served me a wonderful dinner every night, and made sure my stay was perfect. She was the first person I saw every morning when I went down for breakfast, and she would be there at 10:30PM long after dinner. She was the perfect emissary for the Lodge at Eagle Rock, and the State of Montana. I did find out she's originally from Indiana, but I would've thought she lived in Montana her entire life. Looking forward to returning in the Spring.
